Introduce yourself (Name, where you’re from) - What was your life like before Lucas’s diagnosis?

My name is Diana from Bohol, Philippines. I was a tour guide in our beautiful island Bohol and in Central Visayas. I worked 4 to 6 days or more away from home, and every time I come home my twin sons Lucas and Vader are very excited to see me. This was our life before Lucas's diagnosis.

Bring us along your journey – when was Lucas diagnosed with cancer? What was your initial reaction?

Lucas was diagnosed when he was 2 years old June 01, 2020. He just slipped in the toilet and started complaining about back pain and he cannot walk and stand.

I was in denial, thinking how did my son got cancer. I stopped working because of two reasons: COVID and my sons situation.

What was his first chemotherapy treatment like? What treatment/treatments did he or is currently undergoing?

Lucas cannot walk when he was diagnosed so I have to carry him around. He was crying and crying on his first chemotherapy treatment.

Right now Lucas is in 7th month maintenance treatment, and he can walk and play but he still cries whenever he sees the nurses and the needles.

Who did you turn to as your support system?

Word of God and family.

Have there been certain side effects that have been worse than others?

I thank God there is no worse side effects
